Exciting news!
I belong to an organization called Iowa Artists. On April 11th, I participated in the Region 6 (the region I belong) juried art show. I was excited to participate, meet fellow artists in my area, and see art. Our judge, Robert Sunderman, gave a very interesting and informative presentation on his history as an artist and shared his artwork. After getting set up and then listening to the presentation, we left for lunch so our judge could consider our work. There were so many wonderful pieces!
When we returned, we could see our judge still mulling about in the room so we did not go inside immediately. He came out and invited us in. As we entered the room we could see ribbons placed on many pieces of work. Initially I did not see on mine, though I was not expecting any. However, as I moved closer I saw in front of my watercolor “Pronto” was a first place blue ribbon! I was so surprised and almost cried! Now “Pronto” will go on to the state show on May 2nd in Ankeny, Iowa.
“Pronto”
I also bought this beautiful antique spool cabinet to house my finished artwork and supplies. I just love a nice antique and give it a new functional purpose!
